How to produce weighted blanket

To produce a weighted blanket, you will need the following steps:

1. Determine the size of the weighted blanket you want to make. A common size is around 48 inches by 72 inches for a single-person blanket.

2. Cut two identical pieces of fabric for the blanket cover, each the size of the desired finished blanket plus seam allowance (usually 1/2 inch).

3. Place the two fabric pieces together with the right sides facing each other and pin around the edges.

4. Sew around the edges of the fabric, leaving a small opening (about 12 inches) on one side to turn the blanket right side out and insert the weighted fillers.

5. Turn the blanket right side out through the opening.

6. Calculate the total weight you want the blanket to be and measure out the appropriate amount of weighted fillers.

7. Use a scale to measure and divide the fillers evenly into small pockets or sections across the blanket. Sew these pockets closed to keep the fillers in place.

8. Sew the opening closed using a needle and thread or a sewing machine.

9. Optionally, you can sew rows or grids on the blanket to prevent the fillers from shifting too much inside the pockets.

Please note that the weight of the blanket should be approximately 10% of the user's body weight, but it is always best to consult with a healthcare professional or occupational therapist for personalized advice.

This is a basic guide to produce a weighted blanket. You can customize the material, size, weight, and design of the blanket according to your preferences and needs. If you have any specific questions or need further assistance, feel free to ask.
